Heritage Rifle and Pistol Club

Our next club work day will be scheduled for Sunday Sept 28th from 1-5 pm. We will have two main objectives, hang the new range entrance sign (which is being delivery next Tues) and lay new railroad ties on the right side of the newly refurbished Bay 5. If we have enough people we also need to trench the back and sides of Bay 6. Please make plan to attend in order receive your work day credit for 2025.

We have been monitoring discussions and concerns surrounding the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, particularly reports of incidents where the firearm has discharged without an intentional trigger pull. These controversies have been highlighted in various gun-related news sources. We take these matters seriously and have carefully reviewed the available information, including expert analyses and manufacturer responses. If you choose to use a P320 series pistol at HRPC, you do so at your own risk and the club will not be held liable for any unintended discharges. We cannot overstate the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining a safe shooting environment. Each of us bears the duty to ensure our own safety and that of those around us. We urge every member to exercise the utmost caution and care when handling any firearm, including the P320. This includes rigorously following our club’s rules at all times, with special emphasis on the Four Rules of Gun Safety: 1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. 2. Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy. 3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to shoot. 4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. If you own or plan to use a P320, we encourage you to stay informed about any manufacturer updates, recalls, or modifications that may address known issues. We will have a work day on July27, 2025 from 1-5 pm. Please bring hand tools (rakes, shovels, weed eaters, saws etc.) so we can complete some general maintenance at the range.

Recently an item was stolen out of the vehicle of one of our members. We remind you all to keep your items secured and vehicles locked while at the range. This theft was likely from some our local upscale neighborhood community members. Stay locked, stay secured, and stay loaded

HRPC Members, I wanted to make you all aware of some contracting work that is beginning today at the range. Our first priority is fixing the water flow issues off Bay 1 and the gate entrance to prevent further erosion of the road. We will also re-surface Bay 1 and the area in front of Bay 1 and the trailer with RAP (which is currently on Bay 3). Once this is done the entire entrance road will be covered and packed with RAP. Please do not drive up the slope into Bay 1 anymore This has caused significant erosion problems. The contractor will be dumping multiple truckloads of RAP on the left side of the road and possibly in Bay 5 (the little bay) for easy access. This will be used to resurface Bay 2 and eventually Bay 5 (the plate Bay). This will affect parking for larger groups but is a necessary short-term inconvenience. I am hoping to have this completed in 4 weeks, with additional Bay and road work later. I ask that you all be polite and respectful of our contractors doing the work. I will be sending out another email when the entrance road re-surfacing begins. Obviously the range will need to be closed while that work is done, so please pay attention to your emails.

A club work day has been scheduled for Sunday, Dec 8th from 1-5 pm. Please make plans to attend if you have not participated in a work day this year.

Our workday has been rescheduled for Sunday Sept 30th from 1-5 pm due to weather conditions and the forecast.

A range workday has been scheduled for 9/15/2024 from 1-5 pm. Tasks will include wood work on Bay 2, maintenance on the 100 yard range and other general maintenance items. Looking forward to see you there. Please remember the range is closed while work is completed.
